Tarangire National Park, located in northern Tanzania, is a wildlife hotspot that draws thousands of visitors every year. With its high density of elephants, Tarangire is often referred to as the “Home of the Elephants”. The scenic beauty of the park should not be missed either. The hilly and spacious area is adorned with giant baobab trees and the termite mounds that dot the park’s landscape are another unique feature.

WILDLIFE AT TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK

Tarangire is most famous for its large elephant herds, a sight that never ceases to amaze visitors.
It is also home to a remarkable lion population and other predators.
Spot giraffes, zebras, wildebeests and gazelles roaming the fields.
During the rainy season, Tarangire is a paradise for bird lovers, with over 500 different bird species to be seen.

BEST TIME TO VISIT TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK

The best time to visit Tarangire National Park is during the dry season, which typically spans from June to October. During this period, wildlife congregates around the Tarangire River, providing excellent game-viewing opportunities. The dry season also offers pleasant weather conditions with minimal rainfall, ensuring an enjoyable safari experience.
However, for those passionate about birdwatching, the wet season from November to May is also a great time to visit.
