TANZANIA VISA TYPES

Depending on the purpose and duration of your visit, various Tanzania visa types are available. The main categories are:

• Tourist Visa: For travelers visiting Tanzania for sightseeing and non-business activities. It is valid for stays of up to 90 days and allows single entry. This is the visa you should apply for if you are planning a holiday in Tanzania.
• Business Visa: Individuals traveling to Tanzania for business purposes require a business visa which is valid for 90 days.

• Transit Visa: Designed for travelers passing through Tanzania on their way to another destination. It is typically valid for a few days only.
• Student Visa: Granted for academic purposes such as studying abroad, exchange programs, research, internships, volunteering etc.

TANZANIA VISA COSTS

The costs of a Tanzania visa may vary depending on the type of visa and the applicant's nationality. The ordinary tourist visa costs 50 USD.

THE VISA PROCESS

Various options are available for obtaining a Tanzania visa:

• Visa on Arrival: Most foreign citizens can obtain a visa upon arrival at international airports or major border crossings. It is important to check the current visa requirements and fees according to your nationality before traveling. We recommend carrying the visa fee in cash in USD, as card payments may not be available in rare cases.

• E-Visa: Tanzania offers an online system where travelers can apply and pay for their visa in advance. The e-visa facilitates the process and saves time upon arrival. • Embassy/Consulate: Travelers can also apply for a Tanzania visa through the Tanzanian embassy or consulate in their home country.

WHAT DO I NEED TO APPLY?

• To apply for the visa, you need a passport valid for at least six months beyond the intended date of return and with sufficient blank pages for stamps.
• Usually, a recent passport photo is required. If you are applying for your visa online, you can upload a photo. If applying on arrival, a photo will be taken at the airport.

• During the application, you will need to provide information about yourself (e.g., nationality, residence, contact details) and your travel plans (e.g., duration of stay, travel agency, hotel information).
