WHEN IS THE BEST TRAVEL TIME?
In general, Tanzania offers a great holiday experience all year round, with each season bringing its unique conditions and advantages.
Thanks to weatherproof and all-terrain four-wheel drive vehicles, safaris are possible in any weather. However, the best time for a safari in Tanzania is the dry season from June to October, when the landscapes are dry and animals gather at the water holes.
WHICH ANIMALS CAN I SEE?
Tanzania boasts diverse wildlife, including the Big Five (lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, and rhino) as well as giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, cheetahs, hippos, crocodiles and an array of bird species.
The Serengeti Great Migration, where millions of wildebeests and zebras move in search of fresh grazing, is a breathtaking spectacle that you can witness during your safari.
WHERE DO I SLEEP ON SAFARI?
Tanzania offers a wide range of accommodations
to suit various preferences and budgets.
You can choose from luxury lodges, comfortable and mid-range lodges and tented camps, mobile camps as well as budget-friendly camping options.
Each accommodation provides a unique experience and some may even offer wildlife viewing from the comfort of your room.

DO I NEED VACCINATIONS?
Please consult your doctor about your individual medical care ideally at least one to two months before your trip to Tanzania.
When entering Tanzania from a yellow fever area, proof of a valid yellow fever vaccination is required from the age of one. Otherwise, there are currently no compulsory vaccinations to enter Tanzania. However, some vaccinations are often recommended for travel. Please ask your doctor about this.
There is a certain risk of contracting Malaria in Tanzania. The most effective prevention method is exposure prophylaxis, meaning minimizing insect bites.
This can be achieved by wearing clothing that covers the body, applying insect repellent to exposed skin areas and sleeping under a mosquito net.
In some instances, additional chemoprophylaxis may be advisable.
Moreover, standby medications are available for treatment if you become ill while in Tanzania.
You can easily obtain highly effective and affordable malaria treatment medications within the
country or you have the option to bring your own supply from your home country.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR ON SAFARI?
On a safari you can dress however you like. We recommend casual and comfortable clothing.
The climate in Tanzania can vary, so it's important to pack clothes that can keep you comfortable
in both hot and cool weather conditions. Pack lightweight, neutral-coloured clothing for comfort and to blend in with the environment.
Additionally, add long-sleeved shirts and pants and bring a warm layer for cool evenings. Also, don't forget a hat and sunglasses for sun protection.
CAN I SEE THE GREAT MIGRATION?
Yes, witnessing the Great Migration is one of the highlights of a Tanzania safari.
It occurs primarily in the Serengeti, with different locations offering different experiences depending on the time of year.
On a Migration safariyour guide will take you to the best vantage points for optimal wildlife viewing.
DO I NEED A VISA FOR TANZANIA?
Citizens of most countries need a tourist visa to enter Tanzania. It can be obtained upon arrival at all international airports or overland borders. You can also apply and pay for the visa in advance through the online application platform of the Tanzanian Immigration Department.
The tourist visa is a single-entry visa, it costs 50 USD and is usually valid for 90 days from the day of arrival. If you plan to get the visa on arrival, we recommend carrying 50 USD in cash.
ARE SAFARIS FAMILY FRIENDLY?
