Ngorongoro Crater

The Ngorongoro Conservation Area is a must-visit destination for Tanzania travelers. It is a protected area that houses the famous Ngorongoro Crater, a natural wonder created by a volcanic eruption that occurred about 2.5 million years ago. This unique ecosystem is home to a vast amount of wildlife and has been recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Itinerary

In the morning, your guide will pick you up from your hotel in Arusha and together you will make your way to the Ngorongoro Crater. The journey takes approximately 3 hours. In the protected area you will descend 600 meters into the crater to experience its diverse wildlife. The crater is a perfect habitat due to the year-round water supply and abundant food sources. You will take a lunch break at an idyllic picnic spot on the crater floor before setting off on one last game drive. Finally, your guide will take you back to Arusha.
