The size of your group can influence the composition of the mountain crew and, subsequently, the tipping process.

• For small groups, typically consisting of one to three climbers, the mountain crew is generally smaller. This may include a head guide, a couple of assistant guides, a cook and a few porters.
• In larger groups, with more than four climbers, the crew size increases to accommodate the additional needs of the trekkers.

HOW MUCH TIP?

While the exact figures may vary slightly, a general guideline is as follows:

• Head Guide: 20 – 25 USD per day
• Assistant Guide: 15 – 20 USD per day
• Cook: 12 – 15 USD per day
• Porter: 8 – 10 USD per day (per porter, not per bag)
